Interpretation of Your suPAR Health Results

suPAR Health provides insights into health optimization based on extensive research. Reference intervals and guidance on suPAR levels are based on data from over 1,000 peer-reviewed studies documenting the relationship between suPAR and health conditions. We interpret your results in terms of overall risk for chronic disease and health status.
Knowledge of your suPAR levels can contribute to prognosis but should not replace professional advice or treatment from your doctor or other healthcare professionals.

Validation

The suPAR test is clinically validated and CE-IVD marked.
Reference intervals, cut-off values, and biological age are set as estimates and validated in our laboratory. They should be seen as tools to provide a better understanding of the results and are intended for research purposes only.

Biological Age

Our biological age calculation tool translates your suPAR results into an estimated biological age and aging rate. It is important to note that ‘biological age’ is an educated guess based on available data and cannot be used for diagnostic purposes. The interpretation of biological age is still under research.
The aging rate is calculated using our InflammAGE algorithm, which utilizes data from a range of studies showing the link between elevated suPAR levels and accelerated aging. The tool is updated regularly to reflect the latest scientific research and data. It is intended for informational purposes only and should not be considered a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

The dataset for calculating age- and gender-specific suPAR levels is based on three sources:
1) 9,303 healthy Danish blood donors aged 18-65 years.
2) Data from a study on suPAR levels in individuals over 65 years.
3) Ongoing updates with new data from individuals aged 23 and older to further improve the algorithm.
